Water pumping station and school science block among lots at upcoming auction
A former doctors surgery, the site of a nurses home, a redundant water pumping station and a former school science block are set to go under the hammer at auction next week.
The site of the former Montagu Nurses Home in Mexborough has been given a £225,000 guide price. From 1934 until 2011, the 0.75-acre site was the location of state-of-the-art, purpose-built accommodation for the nurses working at Montagu Hospital.
The building included 30 bedrooms as well as a recreation room, lecture room and modern kitchens.
