Transport and logistics firm relocates UK headquarters to 108,500 sq ft warehouse

An international transport and logistics business has made the move to a recently refurbished 108,500 sq ft warehouse in Normanton.

LEMAN, the Danish-owned company, has relocated its UK headquarters to the site situated on Don Pedro Avenue, within the Normanton Industrial Estate, where it will offer freight-forwarding and distribution services for 3PL customers.

The main attractions of Normanton 108 for LEMAN is the 10,000 sq ft of office space, which will accommodate its UK head office workforce, as well as the links to the region’s motorway network to serve its customers in the northern supply chain.

The unit comprises 12 covered dock bays and a large parcel of land adjacent to the building, should the tenant decide to expand its operations.

Jesper Thygesen, the Danish company’s managing director UK, said: “We chose Normanton mainly for its ideal size and configuration as well as its strategic distribution location. We were merging two depots so being able to bring all our staff under the one roof was brilliant. The location close to Junction 31 of the M62 was another attraction. We send all of our trailers out of Hull and Immingham, so it’s great to be have easy access to those ports.”

Onward Holdings, the managed third party warehousing firm which secured the letting, appointed joint agents Iain McPhail of Knight Frank and Andrew Miller Chartered Surveyors to promote the warehouse.

Miller added: “We hope to forge a long-standing relationship with LEMAN, a first-class logistics operation that I’m sure will prosper even further operating out of Normanton.  On the strength of this latest success, Onward is now seeking to add more warehouse space to its portfolio.”

Thygesen said: “From start to finish we have had really good service from Onward Holdings. From agreeing the deal, they managed to turn around the site in just 60 days which enabled us to move in with the minimum disruption to our operations.”
