Developer starts work transforming former school

A developer is breathing new life into the site of one of Wakefield’s oldest schools by transforming it into a £2.5m residential scheme. Ten years since the century-old Walton Junior School closed its gates, the derelict site on School Lane was bought by Yorkshire developers Berkeley DeVeer. The company has now broken the turf on its inaugural project in Wakefield, known as Chatsworth Court,to deliver eight four-bedroom, three-storey properties.
