Valuation office to close half its offices over next five years

The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) has announced plans to cut the number of locations in which it has offices from 52 to 26 in what experts are describing as “a nightmare” for businesses that want to repeal their business rates liability. Offices in Sheffield, Halifax and Huddersfield are set to be axed under the plans.
