Logistic park plans unveiled for former steel manufacturing site

Plans have been submitted for a major logistics hub on the site of a former stainless steel manufacturing facility in Sheffield. Peel Logistics has put in plans to build 837,000 sq ft of high quality logistics space on the former Outokumpo site, which it bought for £8.5m in May. The site has historically been used for stainless steel manufacturing, originally by British Steel, and most recently by Outokumpu, before its facility closed down in 2005. The site was subsequently cleared in 2011 and has since remained vacant.
