The Legal 500: Commercial property sector defies gloom

SIX Yorkshire lawyers are “leading individuals” in commercial property law, according to The Legal 500.

Despite the challenging conditions facing the commercial property sector in recent, the legal bible highlights the work 32 firms in this field across Yorkshire.

Addleshaw Goddard, DLA Piper, Eversheds and Walker Morris are ranked as the tier one firms in Leeds. DLA Piper is also ranked first in Sheffield with Nabarro while Andrew Jackson is top of the pile in the east of the region.

The guide highlights DLA Piper’s work advising Keepmoat, Eversheds’ “proven record in high-value investment transactions for established funds”, Addleshaw Goddard’s “outstanding reputation” and Walker Morris’ work for clients including for Thornfield Properties selling Thornaby Town Centre.

“It will as a sector continue to generate revenue, but we are still some way away from the previous levels of activity and fee generation that dominated the early to mid noughties.”
