Siemens Mobility has secured a £1.5bn contract to build 94 trains for the London Underground at a £200m factory it plans to build in East Yorkshire, creating hundreds of jobs. The company will design and manufacture 94 state-of-the-art Deep Tube trains to serve the Piccadilly line. Transport for London said the contract is a “significant step” in allowing Siemens Mobility to progress its plan to build the factory in Goole to manufacture and commission trains.
