Maplin enters administration
Electronics retailer Maplin has gone into administration this morning.
The Rotherham-headquartered firm is owned by Rutland Partners and has more than 200 stores and around 2,500 staff across the UK. It had put the business up for sale, but talks with a potential buyer have broken down. The company has an annual turnover of £235.8m.
The company experienced a decline in performance as a result of the softening of consumer demand in what has been a challenging retail environment and higher-priced (US denominated) products. Giv...
