Construction firm overstated profits by more than £6m

Sheffield-based construction firm SIG has today announced that an accounting review has uncovered historical overstated profits amounting to more than £6.6m.

Earlier this month, the firm launched a review into its accounts, supported by its external auditors Deloitte and by KPMG in an advisory capacity, following a whistle-blowing allegation of potential accounting irregularity at SIG Distribution.
