Developer announced for £22.5m ski village

A ski village which burned down in Sheffield five years ago is to be redeveloped as part of a £22.5m extreme sports centre. Sheffield Council has appointed the EXTREME Destinations-led consortium to deliver a 48-acre sports, leisure and entertainment site at Parkwood country park, following a competitive bidding process. Sheffield Ski Village was destroyed by fire in 2012. An initial 100 full time jobs are expected to result from the development, which should see the re-instatement of Sheffield’s ski slopes and mountain...
