Private equity firm Bridgepoint has sold Leeds Bradford Airport to an Australian investment firm. AMP Capital, headquartered in Sydney, has agreed to acquire 100% of the airport from Bridgepoint, which bought it under a privatisation plan by five West Yorkshire councils in 2007. Leeds Bradford Airport chief executive David Laws, appointed to the role in May, was the former CEO of Newcastle Airport until 2016 when he left the role to join AMP Capital as a part-time senior advisor for its international airports business.
