A multi-storey car park in West Yorkshire, which was built in 1971, has been demolished in a controlled explosion. The car park on Rishworth Street in Wakefield city centre was permanently closed on July 15, and reduced to rubble this weekend.. It was demolished as part of the Wakefield Council’s redevelopment plans for the city’s historic Civic Quarter.
