DFS braces for profit decline in “very challenging” market
Doncaster-based furniture retailer DFS is bracing itself to announce a decline in profit, even further at the “lower end” of expectations.
It had suggested in a profit warning in June this year that profits would now be in the £82-87m range, and has revised this to being at the lower end of the expected range.
This is due to a decline in revenue for the second half, it said, with a weaker performance down to “significant” declines in store footfall and customer orders between April and June.
