Frozen foods giant cooks up revenues of more than £450m

Frozen foods group McCain has seen revenues and profits rise just weeks after it announced a £100m investment in its Scarborough factory. Pre-tax profits increased to £63.8m for the year to June 2016, from £58.3m the year before. It said that despite a late potato harvest due to adverse weather conditions earlier in the year, and continuing competition pressure from European producers, sales volumes increased.
