Backer steps in to rescue Headingley stadium development deal

A deal has been struck with Leeds City Council to provide the funds of 'up to £35m' to support the Headingley Carnegie Stadium redevelopment. The authority’s executive board has agreed a deal, which, if given the go ahead, will see funding provided by an unnamed private financial services company. Doubt was thrown over the future of the stadium last week after the Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s AGM heard that no new deal had been completed for the stadium.
