Estate agency expands Yorkshire property portfolio to 6,300 following latest acquisition
An independent estate agency has completed the acquisition of a rival firm.
Linley & Simpson, which has a growing network of 11 offices across North and West Yorkshire, has bought the Angus Roberts letting agency in Ilkley for an undisclosed sum.
The deal will see Angus Roberts’ letting portfolio of 240 homes transfer to Linley & Simpson’s town centre branch in Brook Street.
This injection of additional properties propels Linley & Simpson’s total portfolio of homes under its management in Yorkshire to around 6,300.
The owner and managing director of Angus Roberts, David Waterhouse, will also join Linley & Simpson’s senior team as part of the deal.
The agency’s growth strategy is being accelerated with the help of £10m investment secured earlier this summer by the Leeds team of LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group.

This latest deal marks the seventh acquisition completed by Linley & Simpson this year, and 33 since it first opened in 1997.
In addition to Ilkley, the agency’s network of branches has now expanded to include Leeds city centre, Horsforth, Roundhay, Chapel Allerton, Harrogate, Ripon, Wetherby, Saltaire, Wakefield and York.
