Manufacturing: Under-investment hampers supply chain

MANUFACTURING SMEs in the West Midlands supply chain are struggling to keep up with demand due to years of under-investment, a leading sector analyst and financier has said.

Rupert Boddington, senior director for corporate banking in the Midlands at RBS, said the picture was at odds with the success of many firms in the sector but nevertheless highlighted the problems which manufacturers continue to face.
