£250m Midlands Engine Investment Fund suffers six month delay

Cash from the £250m Midlands Engine Investment Fund has been delayed because of "issues" around the procurement process". The Fund was announced in the March 2016 Budget, aimed at boosting the region's economy and supporting some 780,000 SMEs. It was supposed to come into effect in February and March of this year, but Midlands Engine bosses now say that the money will not be available until early August - and that only 60% will be distributed to businesses.
