Granny Mary’s shipping rice to China
A DERBYSHIRE food firm has gone one better than selling tea to China - by shipping rice to the country which already grows close to 210 million tons of the little white grain annually.
It is part of a new range of traditional British ready-meals being exported to Hong Kong by Chesterfield-based food manufacturers Granny Mary’s.
But before it could close the deal, the company had to rethink its usual logo as the existing photograph of the founder, Granny Mary herself, was deemed to be unsuitable for the Chinese market.
