Bombardier to cut 7,500 jobs

Bombardier, which has a significant presence in Derby, is set to cut 7,500 jobs - the second time it has shaved 10% off its workforce this year. Around two-third of the cuts will be in its rail division, Bombardier Transportation, which has a base in Derby. The firm said the job cuts will mean restructuring charges of between £184-£224m in the fourth quarter of the year - as well as into 2017.
