Rolls-Royce wins $1.2bn airline deal
Derby-based Rolls-Royce has won an order worth $1.2bn with the Garuda Indonesia airline.
The deal, to supply Trent 7000 engines designed and developed in Derby, will power a fleet of 14 Airbus330 neo aircraft. It was signed in London in the presence of the President of Indonesia, His Excellency Joko Widodo.
Welcoming the deal, Prime Minister David Cameron said: “We are the fifth biggest investor in Indonesia and our relationship has more untapped potential.”
