PKF Cooper Parry, the East Midlands accountancy firm, is set itself ambitious turnover targets after expanding in to the West Midlands, according to its chief executive.

Speaking to TheBusinessDesk.com, Ade Cheatham said the firm was looking to double turnover in the West Midlands within two years, adding up to 100 new jobs, creating a £40m Midlands-wide firm.

PKF Cooper Parry, which has its East Midlands office at East Midlands Airport, has seen significant growth in the last 12 months, with its merger with Clement Keys creating a £30m turnover business with 350 people. Cheatham said the firm was now the fastest growing accountancy firm in the country – but that “this is just the start.”

He added: “Our short-term focus is on the West Midlands. We want to replicate what we’ve done in the East Midlands, where we act for more privately-owned £5m plus businesses than anyone else.

PKF Cooper Parry posts “strong” results

“Our immediate aim is to establish a dominant position in the West in much the same way as we’ve done in the East. We’re currently exploring a number of opportunities in the region and have ambitious plans for the next three years and beyond.

“We’re always open to opportunity and finding firms that are the right fit for us; longer term, we have ambitions to expand outside of the Midlands.”

Cheatham said the merger with Clement Keys has “gone extremely well”.

He added: “We knew Clement Keys was a strong business and we spent a lot of time getting to know each other. We shared our plans to the market and with the Clement Keys staff very early on and I think that really helped us to hit the ground running in January”.

PKF Cooper Parry has already expanded its West Midlands business with the recruitment of five new partners and the launch of new wealth management, IT consulting, restructuring and corporate finance services.
