Castle Rock opens 23rd pub

Castle Rock Brewery has opened its 23rd pub, the Fox and Grapes, at Sneinton Market, Nottingham. It follows a jointly-funded £200,000 makeover. The pub which will specialise in real ale and craft beers is owned by Carlton Street Trading, and acquired as a tenancy through The Beer Consortium. It will operate under the Castle Rock Brewery banner. The building, which is 185 years old, was scene to the infamous ‘Pretty Windows Murder’ in 1963 when landlord George Wilson was stabbed 14 times outside the pub. The name came ...
