American doughnut chain Krispy Kreme is opening its 100th UK site at Nottingham’s intu Victoria Centre later this month.

The group, which last year generated UK sales of £66.7m in an 11-month accounting period, has been in the UK since 2003 when it opened its first London store. Krispy Kreme’s 99 existing stores include Derby and Leicester, which both opened in summer 2015.

Neil Williamson, operations director at Krispy Kreme, said: 2017 is a very special year for us at Krispy Kreme as it’s our 80th birthday year.

“It’s about to be made even more special as we reach our 100th UK store milestone with the opening of our new Nottingham outlet.”

The Victoria Centre branch, which will have seating for more than 20 people, will open on August 23 with giveaways and celebrations.
