Loughborough MP becomes first female chair of Treasury Select Committee
Loughborough Conservative MP Nicky Morgan is set to chair the parliamentary committee which looks into the UK financial services sector.
Morgan, who earlier this week sat on a round table for TheBusinessDesk.com, is the first woman to hold the role of the chair of Treasury Select Committee after a MPs voted in a tight-run contest.
Reacting to the news, Morgan tweeted: "Delighted & honoured to be elected by my fellow MPs as Chair of the House of Commons Select Committee. Lots to do now."
