Council claims £288m boost to local businesses

Nottingham City Council is claiming it has pumped £288m into the local economy over the last three years as a result of its Procurement Strategy. The Council says that since 2014, it has awarded a total of 567 contracts as part of its role to provide vital services to local people. Some 69% of the total contract value – worth £288m – has been awarded to local suppliers, creating 364 entry level jobs and apprenticeships for local people.
