City centre junction closed for major improvements
A busy Leicester city centre junction will be closed to traffic from today (5 May) as work on a £1.3m street improvement nears completion.
Welford Place will be closed for up to ten weeks, as part of the major project to revamp Belvoir Street and make it safer for cyclists and pedestrians.
The short stretch of road – which links Belvoir Street to the junction of Newarke Street and Welford Road – will be improved with wider pavements and safer road crossings.
