Derby jobs at risk as train maker announces widescale redundancies

Derby-based train manufacturer Bombardier could lay off up to 270 people in its transportation division, according to a company spokesperson.
The move comes as the manufacturing giant revealed it will cut 7,000 jobs worldwide - 1,350 in the UK. A minority of permanent workers will be affected, said Bombardier. In the company's rail division, 44 full-time jobs will be axed, with the rest being contractors.
