An East Midlands-based freight forwarding and logistics company has bought a new build site in Ashby De La Zouch having secured funding from Barclays.

MIES International has purchased the 35,000 sq ft site on the newly developed Ivanhoe Business Park costing £3m.

The business was established in 1977 and was based at East Midlands Airport. Over the years the business expanded into Birmingham, Manchester and Heathrow Airports, before building a 20,000 sq ft facility in Tamworth.

Philip Eaton, managing director of MIES International said: “Due to the expansion of the business, it became necessary to look for new premises. This site provides us with the capacity to further grow the business and operate more efficiently.”

Simon Freeman, relationship director at Barclays said: “The new premises will provide a great platform for MIES to grow. They have been designed and built with this expansion in mind and offer first class facilities.”
