Waste giant sweeps up Birmingham recycling company

Independent recycling company Weir Waste Services has been bought by industry giant Biffa in a £16.2m deal. Weir Waste, which has its head office in Birmingham and a site in Oldbury, employs around 120 people. The business will be incorporated into Biffa's industrial and commercial division, enabling the combined business to broaden its customer offering throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands.
