The athletes' village at Perry Barr for the 2022 Commonwealth Games are out of the starting blocks after the planning application was submitted. The Commonwealth Games Village, proposed to be built on the site of the former Birmingham City University campus, would have capacity to accommodate the 6,500 athletes and officials.
