Retail openings improve to three-year high

The number of retail outlets opening in the West Midlands is at its highest level for three years, according to new figures. PwC research compiled by the Local Data Company (LDC) reveals that in the first six months of 2017, 191 shops opened on high streets, retail parks and shopping centres - alongside 224 closures. The analysis tracked 5,147 outlets in the region, operated by multiple retailers across 32 town or city centres.
