Design consultancy agrees 25,000 sq ft let in Birmingham

Cornerblock

Design consultancy Arcadis is to consolidate its West Midlands operation by taking out a major let on a newly-refurbished Birmingham city centre office scheme.

The consultancy has signed up for 25,000 sq ft of Grade A office space in the newly redeveloped Cornerblock building.

Formerly known the home of KPMG at Two Cornwall Street, Bruntwood has invested heavily in the refurbishment of the building.

The new let will see Arcadis occupy two-floors within the building and consolidate 330 staff currently based at Baskerville House and Aston Cross Business Village.

Keith Hobden, partner at Arcadis, said: “Following a rigorous selection process, we are very pleased to have agreed terms with Bruntwood to take the first and second floors of the new exciting and unique Cornerblock development.

“This relocation provides us with the opportunity to bring all our Birmingham based staff together in one location. We now have more than 300 talented people working in Birmingham alone, and this new office space allows us to truly realise the benefits that come from greater collaboration.

“Not only will we be located in the heart of the city and close to a number of key clients, but the quality of the space and facilities means that our people will have the flexibility to work in the way that best suits their needs.”

The new premises will be taken on the basis of a ten-year lease and Arcadis staff will relocate from its current offices at Baskerville House in June. Arcadis was represented in the deal by Colliers.
