Iron Gut Publishing toasts big retail wins

A SMALL business which creates limited edition art collections under licence from brand owners, is celebrating winning listings by two of the country’s best-known retailers, Harrods and Selfridges.

Manchester-based independent publisher Publishing specialises in creating artwork for the gift market,  and is licensed by brands such as Edward Monkton, Betty Boop and the creators of Wallace & Gromit.

Anthony Marks, one of the founders of Iron Gut said: “Our ranges work especially well within mail order and internet retail. We  have only recently began speaking with bricks and mortar retailers, so to have the likes of Harrods and Selfridges on board already is a fantastic endorsement of our collections.”

Iron Gut Publishing has just three staff, but according to Mr Marks, “punches well above its weight” and has worked with global brands to produce images of iconic sports, TV and music stars including Muhammad Ali, Elvis Presley, Star Trek and, closer to home, Coronation Street.

Mr Marks said the business has no plans to dell direct to customers, stating: “We want to support our retail customers not compete against them, this goes down well with them.”

The company also has a sales agent in the US where animation and film-related art is popular – it has exported Betty Boop, Muhammad Ali and Elvis Presley artwork to the States.
