Lancs signs new procurement deal

LANCASHIRE County Cricket Club has signed a new three-year deal with Altrincham-based Optimum Procurement.

Optimum has said that it will work with the club to reduce costs, improve sourcing efficiency and improve internal processes as it embarks on the most significant phase of its £43m redevelopment of its Old Trafford stadium.

Lee Morgan, finance and operations director at Lancashire CCC, said: “This is a very significant partnership for Lancashire at a momentous period in the Club’s commercial development.

“By investing in new infrastructure to help secure the future prosperity of the Club we are bucking the trend in a very challenging economic climate.

Optimum will help us ensure that we get the very best value and service from our suppliers and this is a crucial deliverable as we transform Old Trafford into a premier cricketing venue fit to host an Ashes Test in 2013.”

Mike Jones, group managing director of Optimum, said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with the best team in English cricket, but it’s especially pleasing as we’re a North-West based company supporting Lancashire CCC.

“We’re starting at the top of the Championship but we believe we have a business template that could benefit every county side and that has to be good news for the game as a whole.”
