The New Year Honours List has recognised a host of leading names from across the region's business, education, political and public sectors. University of Liverpool vice-chancellor Prof Janet Beer becomes a dame, as does Jackie Daniel, chief executive of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
