Salford RL club gets extra time to pay £1.5m debt

Rugby league club Salford Red Devils has had a £1.5m loan repayment holiday extended by Salford City Council. The city mayor Paul Dennett has formally approved the suspension of contributions from the club for a total of 36 months. In January, the Super League club was given a year-long break on repayments after a previous 17-month holiday ended.
