45 million visitors give a £2.27bn fillip to Cumbria economy

Some 45 million people visited the Lake District county of Cumbia in 2016, yielding £2.27bn for the local economy. The figures, which show two million more people visited last year than in 2015, were revealed ahead of Cumbria Tourism’s annual meeting which takes place next month.
