Engineering giant’s losses more than double to £542m

Global engineering giant Amec Foster Wheeler, which has a major presence in Warrington, has more than doubled its pre-tax losses to £542m.

The company, which was acquired by multinational energy services company Wood Group in a deal worth more than £2.2bn in March, saw revenue remain stable at £5.44bn, has suffered as a result of exceptional items and asbestos-related issues which have cost the company £137m.
