Qamer Ghafoor

Having trained at Geldards (Cardiff) and qualified in October 2002, Qamer joined Flint Bishop as an assistant solicitor in January 2003. His drive and determination fast tracked him to partner status in 2005, Head of Commercial Litigation in 2007 and an equity partner of the firm in 2010. Over the years, Qamer has gained a strong national reputation in litigation and professional negligence claims and is regarded as “an A-star litigator with case-handling mentality which is ‘equal to City firms’ ” (Legal 500 2010) and “the kind of solicitor you would walk through fire for” (Legal 500 2011).

Qamer has totally transformed the Commercial Litigation department, both in terms of the quality of national and international instructions received from both commercial clients and several insurers. This has put the firm’s Commercial Litigation department on the map for commercial litigation, property litigation and professional negligence.

During the last 12 months, the department has substantially increased the value and complexity of the work that it attracts nationally and this is clearly evidenced by the fact that the solicitors representing the opponents tend to be national and regional heavyweight law firms, for instance: DLA (London), Eversheds (London), Kennedys (London), Dewey & Le Boeuf, Olswang, Wragge & Co, Clyde & Co, Pinsent Masons to name a few.

As Head of Commercial Litigation, Qamer specialises in all types of commercial dispute resolution. He has a wealth of experience in complex & high value commercial litigation claims, with a particular interest in disputes relating to corporate, insurance, property, insolvency and professional negligence claims. He has acted for major national clients in numerous high value claims, many of which included injunctive proceedings. He is a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association and the Property Litigation Association.
