Sheffield City Region 2012: LEP makes flying start

THE Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership is already attracting a reputation for its ability to attract inward investment.

A recent league table ranking the UK's 39 LEPs for foreign direct investment saw the Sheffield City Region placed fifth.

The ranking is seen as recognition of the way the area has responded positively to the change triggered by the Government's decision to scrap regional development agencies and hand the private sector a bigger role in regional economic development through LEPs.
