The Green Economy: Carbon capture a ‘short term solution’

YORKSHIRE needs to look beyond carbon capture and storage as the UK looks to reduce the impact of energy generation, according to experts.

The county is at the cutting edge of moves to build energy generation capacity that can capture and store harmful gases.

These include 2Co Energy's Don Valley Power Project which would see a new coal-fired power station built with captured gases piped to the North Sea to be used to extract oil before being stored under the sea bed.
