Two easyHotels open in Yorkshire

easyHotel is opening its first two hotels in Yorkshire this week, in Sheffield and Leeds.

easyHotel Leeds, comprising 94 rooms, is situated on Lands Lane in the city centre. The building was originally The Scala Theatre and was constructed in 1922.

The 131-bedroom easyHotel Sheffield is on the main High Street in the city centre and is being opened in the former Primark store.

Laurie Walters, of easyHotel, said: “We’re delighted to be announcing our first openings in Yorkshire as part of our rapid U.K. and international growth.

“Yorkshire is an incredibly popular county with thriving cities, beautiful scenery, a rich history and a plethora of cultural highlights, from cricket to theatre.”

The two hotels are the latest in a programme of openings for listed easyHotel, bringing the group’s total portfolio to 32 hotels across the UK and overseas.

Further openings for this year are also planned for Barcelona and Ipswich. easyHotel also has a development pipeline with a £50m fundraising completed earlier this year to help fund new development projects  for Dublin, Chester, Cambridge and Milton Keynes.
