Council loan will help bring landmark building back to life
A landmark building in Huddersfield town centre is being brought back to life with help from Kirklees Council.
Cabinet members have agreed to fund a loan which will support the redevelopment of the former Co-operative building in a prominent position on New Street.
Money will be loaned to locally-based SKA Property and will come from the Property Investment Fund, which was set up so that the council can support redevelopment projects.
Details of the amount of the loan have not been made public by the council.
