Developer reveals plans for prominent city building

A four storey building opposite Kirkgate Shopping Centre in Bradford has been sold to the Priestley Group, which says the property is “ripe” for redevelopment.

Carter Towler concluded the sale of Leeds House on behalf of investment company Oyster Ventures off a guide price of £595,000.

Priestley chief executive Nathan Priestley said: “We are very excited about purchasing Leeds House. It is a significant and sizable building and is ripe for redevelopment. We are considering a number of interesting options including a possible residential conversion to the upper floors.”

The ground and first floor of the 13,980 sq ft building are currently retail and office units. The upper floors are vacant.

Carter Towler director David Towler added: “Whatever Nathan and his team decide to do with the building we are sure it will be carefully considered and completed to a very high standard. Our client Oyster Ventures is delighted with the outcome of this deal and the prospect of the building being given a new lease of life.”
