Sales soar at Jet2 owners but pre-tax profits take a dive

Revenues have taken off at Jet2 owners Dart Group, but major investments over the year into airport bases have taken their toll on pre-tax profits. Group revenues from the Jet2 businesses and logistics company Fowler Welch, grew 23% to £1.7bn for the year to 31 March 2017, from £1.4bn the year before. Strong leisure travel demand and “resilient” ticket pricing for the summer 2016 allowed them to discount more heavily in the second half, said the Leeds-based company, allowing growth in customer volumes.
