Special Exports Report: Weakening UK demand sees firms looking overseas

WEAKENING domestic demand may prompt more firms in the Midlands to tip their toes into the global marketplace, new data has suggested.

To mark the start of Export Week, Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has conducted a survey of export activity amongst firms in the region.

It concludes that export levels amongst SMEs are solid, with 40% of local firms currently selling their goods or services abroad.
