Greater Birmingham at MIPIM 2015: Major plans to redevelop Wholesale Markets area unveiled
THE Greater Birmingham delegation at the MIPIM property show in France has unveiled ambitious plans to redevelop the city's Wholesale Markets area.
It plans to rebrand the area as Birmingham Smithfield and has ambitions to attract “millions of new visitors and £500m of investment to the city”.
The ten year plan will see the redevelopment of 14 hectares of city centre land.
It is planned that the site will deliver more than 100,000 sq m of floorspace, 1,000 new homes and 3,000 new jobs, adding...
