International Trade: Domestic market most attractive to SMEs – survey

A NEW survey from Close Brothers reveals that there is still work to do to convince smaller businesses in the Midlands about the value of exporting.

More than half (58%) of SMEs in the West Midlands believe that the domestic market represents the greatest growth potential for their business, according to the firm's research.
 
Just 12% cited the European Union as having the most growth potential for them, and 14% said that they have set their sights on exporting to the Middle East and Asia.
