The West Midlands Combined Authority is to award more than £20m to help assemble a package of land paving the way for the development of the new Athletes Village for the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games. In order not to delay the £370m accommodation scheme, work is already taking place to assemble the land needed to accommodate the new housing.
